New year, new ritual

6 Jan

There are few things I dislike more than the end of Christmas, specifically taking down the Christmas tree.
So, this year I’ve decided on a new ritual…to decorate the house with fresh flowers once the tree goes.
It’s certainly brightened up the rooms after clearing all the decorations.

My week…

7 Sep

It’s always a shock to the system when I go back to work after the summer. My poor brain doesn’t seem to work so quickly and I’m not used to using it all day after 6 weeks off!

Having said that, it’s been a lovely first week back and school always seems complete once the kids return. I feel much more sure of what I’m doing this year which is nice as last year I didn’t feel that way until Christmas!

The first couple of days were training days and on Monday myself (and another teacher who is recently engaged) were given a bouquet of lovely flowers as congratulations.

It has been absolutely lovely weather this week and I took this photo whilst waiting for the bus this afternoon, gorgeous blue sky.

Friday meant new red shoes (I felt like Dorothy all day…just a little less glittery)

All in all a lovely first week, improved by lots of sunshine, it feels quite good to get back to work in a strange way 🙂

Photo of (last) week…

27 Aug

I took this photo last week at the allotment with my dad, there is a lovely selection of different sunflowers planted there.

I think the different heights of these flowers makes them look like a sunflower family 🙂

Photo of the week

16 Aug

My first ever photo of the week (photo of the day would be far too much for me to remember!)

This gorgeous plant was a complete bargain (£1.99) and is such a beautiful colour. I have recently discovered Dahlias, there were many lovely ones planted in Monet’s garden.

Hopefully it will survive the winter!
